Pastor Taylor has served local churches in Texas for over a decade, fundraised $1.2+ million for global missions, traveled to 15 countries preaching & teaching the Gospel, and discipled countless individuals in their pursuit of a relationship with Jesus. Taylor’s ministry is marked by authentic relationships, contagious laughter, passionate prayer, and a driving passion to see people encounter Jesus in a life-changing way.

 

He and his wife Morgan have two children – Matilda (4 years) and Anderson (7 months) – and a female goldendoodle named Mabel.. They currently reside in Dayton, TX, about 30 minutes east of downtown Houston. When not working and doing ministry the Choates enjoy going on adventures together…specifically Disney trips!

Taylor and Morgan were both born and raised in Dayton, TX - 30 minutes east of downtown Houston.They began dating after both had graduated college and returned home for work.

1994

Salvation Experience

At the age of 6, Taylor understood the gravity of not putting his faith in Jesus Christ and accepts Jesus as his Lord.

1998

Feeling a "call"

When answering his Sunday School teacher, Taylor shares he believes God wants to use him to preach around the world.

1999-2007

Learning to serve

Through his local church, which was next door to his house, Taylor learned the value of being willing to serve Jesus through the local church.

2007

The Lord Makes it Clear

As a freshman at Texas A&M University, Taylor hears the Lord clearly say, "I've called you into the ministry. You are to go and get a bible degree." Next year Taylor enrolls at Southwestern A/G University.

2011

Full-Time Ministry

Taylor begins fulltime ministry after competing his AA in Biblical Studies and BA in Church Leadership

2012

Return Home

During a solo road trip, Taylor hears the Lord say, "return home and be a servant to your home church." Taylor begins serving his home church in Mont Belvieu, TX as Missions and Outreach Pastor.

2015

McKinney, TX

Taylor and his fiance move to McKinney, TX to serve as Associate Pastor of Genesis Chruch.

2017

Bastrop, TX

At the request of a pastor and encouragement of his mentors Taylor & Morgan move to Bastrop, TX to assist in the revitalization of a local AG church.

2018

No Surprise to God

After a short, but successful, stint in Bastrop, Taylor and Morgan accept the opportunity to serve a growing church in Hutto, TX.

2019 - Early 2020

Baby & Covid-19

The Choates welcomed their first child, Matilda, in 2019 right before Covid-19 became a nightly news topic. In 2020, the Choates made the decision to return to their hometown.

Fall 2020

From Pastor to Teacher

Taylor enters public education as a mathematics teacher for Dayton ISD, where he would be named "Rookie of the Year."

2021 - Present

Revitalization...

During the fall of 2021 Taylor was called upon to lead the revitalization effort of a small struggling church in Daisetta, TX. After prayerful consideration the Choates said "yes" once again to the Lord and have seen God's faithfullness.
