Go into all the world and preach the gospel
Mark 16:5
As a young child, Taylor was frequently asked to serve in children’s church and assist in various tasks around the church. Even at such a tender age, he was entrusted with the responsibility of serving communion and offering prayers for his friends during services. This invaluable experience allowed Taylor to become familiar with the selfless act of serving others, shaping the foundation of his compassionate nature.
During a Sunday School class as a pre-teen, his teacher asked, “What do you think God wants you to do with your life?” Most responses were, “police officer,” “teacher,” “make a lot of money.” Taylor’s response however was “I believe God wants me to share the gospel around the world and inspire others to live a purposeful life according to His teachings.”
Presently
Today 45+ people attend each weekend and 70 call Harvest Church their church home. We have seen 41 people receive salvation for the first time and baptized 15 of them. God has great plans for the future of this church. The Lord is not done with what He is doing at Harvest Church and the seeds that have been planted are surely going to blossom into a thriving harvest field one day!
Fall 2021
In the fall of 2021 Taylor began conversations with a District Presbyter from the South Texas A/G Network to lead the revitalization of a struggling church of less than 10 people. After prayerfully considering the need Taylor and Morgan agreed to this ministry assignment.
2020
At the beginning of the Covid-19 Pandemic Taylor and Morgan made the decision to move home to Dayton, TX. During this season Taylor began teaching full time for Dayton ISD where he remains today.
2020 - 2018
Taylor served as the Associate Pastor of the Bridge Church during a season of supernatural growth. The Bridge Church had great vision and leadership, but needed assistance in vision and mission alignment, coupled with the "how-to" lift off. Through lots of planning, praying, and vision casting the church began to grow and never stopped.
2018 - 2017
Taylor was asked to assist in a pastoral retirement/transition. Taking a step of faith and trusting the Lord, Taylor and Morgan left their previous church to walk into this new season. After working to bring life, youthfulness, and community back into the church the lead pastor determined that retirement was no longer his desire. Though not the plan the Choates originally signed up God was not caught off guard.
2017 - 2015
Taylor and Morgan, upon their engagement, began serving as Associate Pastors of Genesis Church in McKinney, TX. Here Taylor oversaw staff development/leadership, member connection, guest assimilation, growth track, small groups and Sunday morning ministry teams.
2012 - 2015
Taylor returned home to serve his home church in Mont Belvieu, TX. While serving as Missions and Outreach Pastor Taylor oversaw the missions program and all local outreach ministries. This season was marked with highlight moments of 300 salvations during the Discover Joy Crusade, 2 mission trips to Cuba, preaching to young leaders in Vietnam, and overseeing an annual ministry budget of $500K.
2011
During his senior year of college, Taylor was asked to serve as the youth pastor in Beaumont, TX. This was a unique opportunity because for the first 4 months of this assignment Taylor lived on-campus at SAGU in Waxahachie, TX. Making a 4.5+ hour trip weekly Taylor lead the group from 5 students to over 30 weekly.
What Must I Do To Be Saved?
We must all realize our depravity and need of redemption. We are sinful by nature and must be redeemed through the gift of salvation offered to us by God through Christ's sacrifice.
23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. - Romans 3:23
Believe in your heart by putting your faith in Christ's work and God's love for you, that you are saved.
8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast. - Ephesians 2:8-9
Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and you shall be saved.
if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. - Romans 10:9
